So while I wait for clue 2 of the MKAL to be released tomorrow I added the first round of part 4 to my Karoo Vintage blanket 💙 I forgot that I hadn't sewn in the million ends from the previous part, so let's pretend they aren't just hiding under this flat lay 😜 Past Rob was so lazy.
In case you haven't seen this blanket before, it's by the amazing @hooksntales and I'm using @stylecraftyarns Special DK in vintage shades from @lincoln_woolpack 💚 The texture in this pattern is just amazing 😍

***SPOILER ALERT*** Don't swipe if you don't want to see my completed first clue of the Westknits MKAL 💙

Well wasn't this one fun! I have really enjoyed each little part of the first clue, although the final part took some doing! I absolutely love how the colours are working together in this piece and they remind me of cherry blossom which takes me back to our trip to Japan 🥰 These yarns are all from the fabulously talented @lottieknits on her Little Bird Sock base and my new project bag is from Midwinter Yarns.

Now that I've finished, I am going to go and binge the hashtag to see everyone else's picks for the colours 💙

It's Friday and it's the release day for the #westknitsmkal2021 🎉 I shared my colours in my stories the other day, but here they are as my official first picture 😉 I'm using Little Bird Sock yarn in Deep Ocean, Ocean, Sea Foam, Peach Melba and Blossom from one of my favourite dyers @lottieknits 💙 I just love this base 😍
Anyway, I managed to catch them in the sun which has now disappeared and of course everything just fell like this, so #casuallyarranged 😜 I'm off to put the tea on before I cast on, and I've loved seeing all the amazing colours other people have chosen. I think my feed is going to get very bright! Happy Friday everyone 💜

Sometimes a simple repeat is all you need to relax. I've been really busy this week and not had much energy or concentration after work for anything too taxing, so I've been working on my Virus blanket. I started this last year as a project to help reduce stress during lockdown and I've slowly been turning to it when things have got hectic. I'm using Stylecraft Batik Swirl in Forest and I just love the calmness of these colours. I'll be joining in the Westknits MKAL tomorrow though, so probably should get a good night's sleep! 💜💙💚

I've been knitting on my own design this evening and I just have a few more rounds before I can switch back to the contrast colour for the toes. It's been a really busy day, so I just wanted to crochet tonight. I've added a few more rounds to my Continuum blanket which has been so relaxing 💙 If you've not seen this WIP before, it's by Helen Shrimpton and I'm using the Coral Reef colours 🐠🐟🐠 It's really well written and there are plenty of photos to help you with the more difficult parts, so it's a very enjoyable project 😁

Looks like it might be a bit wet today, so after seeing all the amazing people at Yarndale yesterday, I'm keen to get a move on with this sock design. The heel flap is knitted, the heel is turned and the gusset is picked up 🧦 So far no holes 😂 I've written up where I'm up to at the minute too, as you know I'll just forget what I did. Time to get on with the decreases!

My lovely friend Hilde over at @smaatterier_designs asked me what was on my hook today 💙 Thank you for asking Hilde, I'm actually on my needles working on my Clayoquot hat for my Yarndale trip in a few weeks. I've just finished the colourwork and I'm on to the crown decreases, so it shouldn't be long until I can cast off! This pattern is by @tincanknits and I'm using King Cole Merino Blend in Chocolate, Chestnut and Turquoise. I'm really happy with the yarn - it's a budget range and is knitting up nicely. It's soft and there's a nice choice of colours so I'll definitely use it again 💙
