I had a request for some mittens (and they will be making their way up north soon!), so after a few false starts, changes of yarn and pattern, I finally decided on the ones I wanted to make. The one that looks finished still needs seaming, as these are knit flat, which I thought was cool and the thumb magically appears 😀 The pattern is by 'Made by Marianna' and is free on her blog. If you are looking for a nice and easy knit, this pattern definitely has you covered 💙 I'm using Stylecraft Special DK as it's soft but should stand up to kid use 😉

Let's face it, after this year, Christmas can't come quick enough and we have just put up our tree and I think it's time to do a bit more work on my Comet Sock. Oh and have a mince pie of course 😉 I've finished the leg and I've just started the heel flap. The sparkle in this Silent Night yarn from West Yorkshire Spinners is so festive but not overbearing. Hi everyone! Hope you are all having a fab Saturday! It's been nice and sunny here today, so I've been good and been for a run and also added a few more rows to my Slipstravaganza shawl, which I'm very behind with 😂 I've not put a spoiler alert on this one as the pattern has now been fully released. I have seen the finished shawl and it's spurred me on as it is amazing! I might switch projects for the evening though for something a bit more TV friendly 😉

I'm about 200 rows into my Lunula shawl by the lovely @aoibheni 💚 This first part is a long stretch of Tunisian knit, which is really relaxing. What's less relaxing is that I got carried away watching something and lost count 🤦 oh well! I also wanted to show how this beautiful yarn from @kettleyarnco is working up. This colour is called Nori and it's a gorgeous deep inky green. It has a slight shine to it and I can't wait to have this shawl hooked up so I can wrap it around myself. Right, I'm off to get some stitch markers and see how far I have to go 😂

Good evening everyone! I hope things are ok in Instaland 💚 I've been working on the Wanderlust scarf for my dad tonight, in this lovely olive merino yarn from Drops. I'm almost done with the scarf; just a couple more rows and then tidy up the ends before I get the matching hat on my hook. If you haven't seen this before, it's a free pattern on Kirsten Holloway's website and an interesting pattern with plenty of texture. I'm really looking forward to tomorrow as there are 2 pattern releases, which means a spot of yarn shopping 😉 🎉
